2008年に初めて南部アフリカを訪れて以来、アフリカの音楽と文化に深く魅了され、南アフリカを中心にアフリカ各国を継続的に訪問。旅のなかで出会った最先端のアフリカン・サウンドに強く惹かれ、2017年より始めたDJ活動や、ソーシャルメディア、音楽誌への寄稿を通じて、その魅力を発信し続けている。近年は特にAmapianoのDJとして注目を集め、自身が主催するAmapianoパーティー「Khanya（カニャ）」も毎回好評を博している。また、東京を拠点とするGqomパーティー・クルー「TYO GQOM」のメンバーとしても活動しており、2022年にはウガンダの〈Nyege Nyege Festival〉、2025年には〈FUJI ROCK FESTIVAL'25〉への出演を果たした。

After first visiting the African continent in 2008, mitokon became deeply immersed in its cultures and has since returned almost every year, traveling across multiple countries including South Africa. Captivated by the energy and innovation of Africa's evolving music scenes, he began sharing emerging sounds through social media and contributions to music publications. Since 2017, mitokon has been actively DJing with a focus on South African dance genres such as Gqom, Kwaito, and Afro House. He is a member of TYO GQOM, Japan's first Gqom party crew, and has performed at Uganda's Nyege Nyege Festival (2022) and FUJI ROCK FESTIVAL (2025).
